Coastal Crust (Mount Pleasant)

Old Village · pizza, italian

Wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza from a family-owned group that began with a vintage mobile kitchen. The Post and Courier says the Mount Pleasant spot has fire pits, picnic tables and plenty of room for the whole family, and that every pizza is made from scratch.

Pitt Street Pharmacy

Old Village · $ · soda fountain, sandwiches, milkshakes

A lunch counter inside a working pharmacy. Pitt Street Pharmacy says it has been open since 1937 and still runs an old-fashioned soda fountain where 'generations have grown up' ... grilled cheese, burgers, a club sandwich called Linda's Club, milkshakes, and a beef frank topped with locally made Miss Sassard's Jerusalem artichoke relish, eaten on soda fountain stools. The shop says its grilled cheese has been voted Mount Pleasant's best several years running.

Post House

Old Village · coastal, seafood, new american

A restaurant and small inn in Mount Pleasant's Old Village that calls itself a coastal tavern. The building at 101 Pitt Street went up in 1896 and was for 16 years the Old Village Post House, which closed in February 2019. Kate and Ben Towill of Basic Projects redesigned it and reopened it as Post House in August 2020, moving the dining room to the back and turning the bar to face Pitt Street. Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the Charleston-born group, bought the restaurant in March 2025. City Paper's Summer 2026 Top 50 points to the raw bar, fresh pastas, a local seafood massaman curry and Anson Mills cornbread.
